Russian Sabotage Network Behind Romanian Arson Attempt, Intelligence Officials Say

Romania’s Intelligence Service says it uncovered a network coordinated from Russia that attempted to set fire to the Carfil arms factory in Brașov on September 14. Investigators identified three suspects from post-Soviet states. Two Belarusian citizens were detained in Germany while allegedly preparing crimes; a Ukrainian suspect was arrested in Poland. Romanian authorities have sought their extradition. Officials say the network had targets across the region and describe the case as part of a Russian-linked sabotage campaign in Europe. The allegations remain under investigation.
