Russian Guided Bomb Destroys Latvian Honorary Consulate in Eastern Ukraine

A Russian guided bomb struck the Honorary Consulate of Latvia in the eastern Ukrainian city of Sloviansk, damaging or destroying the consulate building. Ukrainian officials said the attack occurred around 10:40 a.m., and reported casualties including two consulate employees injured; the honorary consul was reported unharmed. Ukraine’s prosecutors opened a war crimes investigation related to the strike, and President Volodymyr Zelensky later referenced victims from the airstrikes.
