Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Russia’s war against Ukraine “must continue” to protect the country from threats, following a reported overnight drone attack on Moscow. Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said 613 drones were launched toward the capital, 231 of which were allegedly downed approaching the city. Peskov called the attack “strange” because it occurred during the Russia-Africa Summit. Russian authorities reported no casualties or damage. His remarks came as Russia, Ukraine, and the United States prepare for possible renewed negotiations, though a meeting date remains unconfirmed.
