Russia launched waves of missiles and drones across Ukraine on October 7, killing at least 20 people and wounding around 50, Ukrainian officials said. The deadliest strike hit Pryluky in the Chernihiv region, where a missile destroyed a five-storey residential building, killing at least 14 people, including four children. Six others died in Kyiv, Oleksandria and Kremenchuk. Strikes also damaged industrial and energy facilities, prompting emergency power cuts in five regions. Ukraine’s air force said it intercepted just over 80% of 46 jet-powered drones.
