Russia Cracks Down on Dating Chatbot ‘Exploited’ by Ukrainian Intelligence

Russia’s Federal Security Service says Ukrainian intelligence used the Telegram dating chatbot Davyinchik to recruit young people for sabotage. The agency reported that 56 people, aged 12 to 24, had been arrested since July 2025. In August and September 2026, authorities detained eight teenagers and two adults across Moscow, St. Petersburg, and several regions. Investigators allege some were involved in arson targeting gas stations, police vehicles, and infrastructure. The claims come from Russian officials and have not been independently verified.
