Rheinmetall said it will take time to ramp up planned ATACMS missile production with Lockheed Martin, underscoring how difficult it is for the U.S. to replenish long-range precision stocks depleted during its war with Iran. The company noted a memorandum of understanding for ATACMS production at Rheinmetall’s Unterluess plant, with facilities due to be set up next year. Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger said replenishment “won’t happen in two years,” adding that the joint venture approval process is well advanced.
