On January 31st, 2026, law enforcement conducted a major investigation at a house near East Washington Ave and North Hollywood Blvd after receiving reports of a possible bio lab. The LVMPD and FBI launched a search early that morning at 5:41 am on Sugar Springs Dr. During the search, detectives found evidence of bio material, including refrigerators with vials of unknown liquids.
Sheriff Kevin McMahil spoke to the media, saying it was an isolated incident and there was no immediate danger to the public, but it was a complex case involving multiple agencies with a lot of resources. The investigation was coordinated with LVMPD's All-Hazard ARMOR team and local firefighters, as well as state partners, to ensure safe recovery of materials. A member from the Nevada National Guards 92ND Weapons of Mass destruction Civil Support team also helped with the investigation. Another house on Temple View Dr was searched by FBI but no threats were found there either. Police presence in area will last for hours or days while investigation continues. Authorities asked residents and drivers to avoid area during investigation because it's serious and sensitive situation. More info will be released as it becomes available to keep people informed. This ongoing investigation raises concerns about nature of materials found and its impact on public health & safety, so police are taking precautions while securing area.
