A former loyalist blogger turned Putin critic, Ilya Remeslo, was detained in St. Petersburg and accused of spreading false information about the armed forces, state media reported. The arrest follows a court hearing for opposition politician Boris Nadezhdin, as authorities intensify pressure on dissent amid the war in Ukraine. Remeslo, whose viral manifesto against Putin circulated in March, could face up to 10 years in prison. He is expected to be taken to Moscow for a pretrial ruling.
