Polymarket removed a contract allowing bets on whether any of seven men accused in a civil lawsuit over a Cornell student’s 2024 sexual assault would face felony sex-crime charges. The market, listed on the company’s international platform, had generated more than $450,000 in trading volume. The student’s allegations have not been established in court, and the men deny them. Polymarket said it removed the contract after hearing public criticism. Authorities have reopened the investigation; no criminal charges had been filed then.
