Dhaka, Bangladesh—A group of 30 to 40 unidentified agitators attacked and vandalized the private residence of Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader in Uttara's Sector 7 on October 12, 2026.
The violent incident unfolded at approximately 11:00 AM as individuals gathered outside the property along Road 33. Demonstrators chanted aggressive slogans accusing the opposition figure of foreign collaboration before hurling bricks and heavy stones at the structure.
The projectile barrage shattered main windowpanes across the front facade, covering the interior drawing room with broken glass. Quader and his wife remained inside the residence while projectiles struck the outer walls. The locked exterior perimeter gate prevented the crowd from storming directly into the main house.
The assailants maintained the assault for roughly half an hour while occupants inside dialed police units for emergency assistance. Mobile police teams moved toward the location, but the crowd dispersed into surrounding alleyways immediately prior to the arrival of law enforcement vehicles.
Quader recounted the sudden siege from inside his residence following the arrival of security personnel. "I then heard that they were heading towards our house," Quader said. "Shortly afterwards, bricks and stones started being thrown at the house from all sides."
Uttara West Police Station Officer-in-Charge Khalid Mansur confirmed that law enforcement received an urgent call regarding the active vandalism. "We rushed to the spot immediately after receiving the information," Mansur said. "The attackers fled after noticing the police presence."
Dhaka Metropolitan Police officers established a fixed security post outside the residence to prevent further clashes. Crime scene technicians documented physical destruction across the property and cataloged brick fragments left along the residential driveway.
Investigators are analyzing private closed-circuit television recordings from nearby residential properties along Sector 7. Police officials confirmed that no suspects had been formally identified or taken into custody as of Monday afternoon.
