Delhi Police on Sunday banned a planned Monday march on India’s parliament by supporters of the viral opposition “Cockroach Janta Party,” warning that no permission had been granted. The police said prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the BNSS are in effect across New Delhi district, restricting assemblies of five or more people except at the designated protest site at Jantar Mantar. With the Monsoon Session starting July 20, police said security has been heightened and unauthorised marches could lead to prosecution.
