Over 29,000 Canadians Sign Petition Calling for U.S. Ambassador Hoekstra’s Expulsion

More than 29,000 Canadians have signed an e-petition calling on the Government of Canada to declare U.S. Ambassador Pete Hoekstra persona non grata and request his removal. The petition alleges repeated public statements that it says undermine Canada–U.S. diplomatic relations, along with concerns about interference in Canadian domestic affairs. It also asks Ottawa to raise the conduct with the United States in line with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and to review related issues in Parliament.
