Norway’s Crown Princess Had Years of Contact with Epstein, Files Suggest

In the latest release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein's case, it has come to light that Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway had years of ongoing contact with the disgraced financier. The files, which include communications from between 2011 and 2014, reveal that Mette-Marit was mentioned hundreds of times, reflecting a close relationship that has left many in Norway shocked.

The documents show that Mette-Marit, who expressed "poor judgment" in her dealings with Epstein, visited his home in Palm Beach, Florida, in January 2013. During that visit, she reportedly stayed for four days with a friend. There was also evidence of email exchanges discussing personal matters and even casual topics, such as potential wallpaper choices for her son’s room that included images of naked women.

In a statement, Mette-Marit acknowledged her mistake in associating with Epstein, expressing her embarrassment and regret for not more thoroughly examining his background. "It's just embarrassing," she stated, emphasizing her sympathy for Epstein's many victims.

This revelation comes at a particularly tumultuous time for the Norwegian royal family, as Mette-Marit’s son, Marius Borg Høiby, faces a trial with serious charges including rape and assault. The juxtaposition of her past relationships with the ongoing trials has added layers of scrutiny to the royal family, which is already dealing with various public scandals.

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre has commented on the situation, asserting that Mette-Marit’s admission reflects a broader issue regarding public figures and their responsibilities in choosing associations.

The fallout from these revelations has sparked significant public discourse in Norway about the ramifications of royal associations, the responsibilities of those in the public eye, and the ongoing effects of Epstein's offenses that continue to reverberate through multiple high-profile connections.

As new information continues to emerge, the royal family’s response and the public's reaction will likely remain a focal point in Norwegian society.
