Eindhoven, Netherlands— A retail clerk was left injured and traumatized after a late-night armed robbery at a shop in Eindhoven on October 22, 2026.
The raid happened at 10:40 p.m. in a small supermarket on the Woensel district. Two men entered just before closing, faces covered with hoods. One carried a knife, the other kept watch by the door. The clerk, a 23-year-old woman working alone, was behind the till.
Police said the man with the knife vaulted the counter and grabbed her wrist. He demanded cash. She struggled. He shoved her against shelves and hit her in the face. She fell. He emptied the register, about 400 euros, and took cigarettes from behind the counter.
The two fled on foot toward a nearby park. The clerk managed to press the panic alarm and lock the door. A neighbor heard screaming and called police. She was found sitting on the floor, bleeding from the nose, shaking.
Ambulance crews treated her for facial injuries, bruising and shock. She was taken to Catharina Hospital for observation. Doctors said she is physically stable but severely distressed. Victim support has been assigned.
“We see more late-night robberies with small knives and threats. This one was violent and fast. Under a minute inside,” said a Brabant police spokesman. “The suspects knew the closing time.”
Forensic teams photographed blood on the floor and seized CCTV. The footage shows two slim men, dark clothing, one with a distinctive red shoe sole. Police are checking other robberies in the area with similar method.
The shop owner said the clerk had worked there for eight months and was alone because a colleague called in sick. He has closed the store for two days. Residents have left flowers at the door.
Police have appealed for witnesses and asked shops nearby to share camera footage. No arrests have been made. The investigation continues.
