Nepal’s authorities have ended search and rescue operations after a deadly flood, leaving more than 5,200 people missing. The disaster destroyed homes, roads, bridges, and farmland across several districts, while emergency crews struggled to reach isolated communities. Officials said the decision reflected worsening weather, difficult terrain, and diminishing hopes of finding survivors. Families continued gathering at hospitals and relief centers, seeking information about relatives. The government promised aid, shelters, and support for reconstruction, but residents warned recovery could take years.
