Nelly Korda Taps In for Eagle, Secures 3-Shot Lead in Mexico

Nelly Korda demonstrated her incredible talent at the Riviera Maya Open in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, by tapping in for an eagle on the final hole, securing a three-stroke lead heading into the final round. Korda's solid play throughout the day resulted in her carding a 5-under-par 67, maintaining her strong position at 14-under 202 overall.

Korda, who rose to the top of the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings following her victory at the Chevron Championship, showcased her skills on a challenging course where she recorded just one bogey across three rounds. She expressed satisfaction with her performance, noting that a par save on the ninth hole was crucial as it marked the only moment she felt pressured during the round.

Despite a somewhat slow start, Korda made birdies at holes 13 and 15 before finishing spectacularly with an eagle on the par-5 18th, hitting her approach shot close to the hole. "Just really happy with my game," she remarked after the round.

Following in Korda's wake is Thailand’s Arpichaya Yubol, who sits in second place at 11-under after a remarkable bogey-free 66, while Japan’s Minami Katsu follows in third at 10-under par. With only a few shots separating the top players, the final round promises to be highly competitive.

As Korda aims to defend her lead, her experience and recent success could play a pivotal role in determining the outcome of the tournament.
