Nearly all Russian Iskanders and Zircons reached their targets during mass attack on Ukraine

Russia carried out another large-scale aerial assault on Ukraine overnight July 2, with the Ukrainian Air Force reporting that 24 Iskander ballistic missiles and four Zircon missiles were launched, and that nearly all of them reached their intended targets.

Nearly all Russian Iskanders and Zircons reached their targets during mass attack on Ukraine

Russia launched a large-scale aerial attack on Ukraine overnight July 2, with Kyiv listed as the primary target, the Ukrainian Air Force said.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia used a mix of air-, land-, and sea-launched missiles plus hundreds of attack drones. In total, it said Russia fired 570 aerial weapons, including:

496 attack drones (including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, Banderol, and decoys), 24 Iskander-M/S ballistic missiles, 34 Kh-101 cruise missiles, 8 Kalibr cruise missiles, 4 Zircon anti-ship missiles, 4 Kh-59/69 guided air-to-surface missiles.

By 9:00 a.m., Ukraine reported that air defenses destroyed or electronically suppressed 524 aerial targets, including:

4 ballistic missiles, 32 Kh-101 cruise missiles, 8 Kalibr cruise missiles, 4 Kh-59/69 guided missiles, 476 drones.

On impact, preliminary reports indicated that:

25 ballistic missiles and 12 attack drones struck 33 locations, drone debris fell at 18 locations. Ukraine said the status of several missiles was still being verified, and noted that some drones remained in Ukrainian airspace at the time of the latest update, urging residents not to ignore air-raid alerts.
