NATO Official Says Russia Intensifying Hybrid Acts in Europe but Poses No Imminent Attack Threat

Russia is stepping up hybrid activities across Europe, including cyberattacks, sabotage, disinformation, and other efforts targeting NATO members, a senior alliance official said. However, the official stated that NATO does not currently assess an imminent risk of a direct Russian military attack against the alliance. NATO has strengthened defenses, improved intelligence sharing, and increased cooperation among member states in response to the growing pressure. Officials warned that hybrid operations can remain below the threshold of armed conflict while still undermining security and public confidence.
