Canadian MPs are considering Bill S-211, legislation that would establish a national framework for regulating sports-betting advertising. The bill passed the Senate and cleared second reading in the House of Commons; committee hearings and a further vote are expected in fall 2026. It would not impose an immediate blanket ban. Instead, the framework could set limits on the volume and placement of ads and address celebrity and athlete endorsements. Supporters cite concerns about gambling-related harm, particularly among young people and frequent online bettors.
