Mother jailed over baby’s hairdryer burns death

A mother has been found guilty of killing her three-month-old baby daughter after the child suffered fatal burns caused by heat from a hairdryer. In court in Peterhead, jurors heard the infant had burns to about 18% of her body and that the mother had been alone with the baby when the appliance was used.
