India is becoming more openly critical of the Trump administration as disputes over tariffs, Pakistan, terrorism, and immigration strain bilateral ties. Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said Washington has been insensitive to India’s security concerns and has pursued self-centered trade policies that hurt developing countries. New Delhi is also frustrated by Trump’s warmer relationship with Pakistan. Analysts say the sharper rhetoric reflects domestic pressure on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and disappointment that close personal ties have not produced greater policy reciprocity.
