Prime Minister Narendra Modi briefly interrupted his address at the BRICS Summit in New Delhi after appearing to notice discomfort from Chinese President Xi Jinping. Modi turned toward Xi and asked an accompanying translator, “Is it okay?” He repeated the question moments later. Xi then nodded, and Modi resumed speaking. The brief exchange occurred during Xi’s first visit to India in seven years. The leaders had also held bilateral talks focused on relations, border peace, trade, and broader regional cooperation
