A militant carried out an attack by ramming an explosive-laden vehicle into the provincial headquarters of the Pakistan Rangers in Karachi, the capital of Pakistan’s southern Sindh province, police and witnesses said. The strike sparked an intense exchange of gunfire between the attackers and security forces.

Ambulances and emergency services rushed to the area as the assault unfolded and forces responded to the attack. The group Jamaat-ul-Ahrar claimed responsibility, according to the report.
