Migrants Injure Lithuanian Border Guard, Attempt to Force Him Into Belarus

At Lithuania’s Kapčiamiestis border area, migrants allegedly assaulted a border guard and tried to push him toward Belarusian territory, Lithuanian media reported. The officer sustained minor injuries and is currently on sick leave. Officials said a pretrial investigation is underway and declined to detail the circumstances publicly. Earlier reporting linked the incident to border guards detecting an underground tunnel and detaining several migrants, after which the detained group and others allegedly attacked officers before escaping back into Belarus
