Massive Blaze Guts Four Factories in Puchong Industrial Area

PUCHONG — A ferocious early-morning blaze tore through an industrial strip along Jalan TPP 5/15 in Taman Perindustrian Puchong, leaving four adjoining factories almost entirely destroyed.

Plumes of thick black smoke were visible across the Puchong skyline as emergency crews battled the inferno, which rapidly spread through the interconnected industrial units before being brought under control.

The fire broke out at approximately 6:30 AM, initially taking hold of a furniture manufacturing facility. Fueled by flammable materials inside, the flames quickly intensified and breached neighboring walls.

According to Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar, the department received an emergency distress call at 6:34 AM. First responders from the Puchong Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene within 11 minutes to find a raging inferno already enveloping the primary site.

The blaze quickly spread to three adjacent businesses: tyre storage and distribution factory, a plumbing hardware and valve manufacturing unit, and an engineering workshop.

Firefighting teams from multiple nearby stations were deployed to bolster the operation, laying hose lines to contain the spread and prevent the fire from reaching nearby industrial lots.

"All four premises are estimated to have suffered nearly 90 per cent structural destruction due to the intensity of the flames."— Ashrul Riezal Asbar, Assistant Director of Operations, JBPM Selangor Despite the severe structural damage and risk of collapse, fire officials confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported. Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control approximately two hours after arriving at the scene.

Overhaul operations and damping-down procedures continued into the late morning to eliminate hidden hotspots beneath collapsed roof trusses and industrial debris.

The Fire and Rescue Department's forensics unit has launched a formal investigation to determine the exact cause of the ignition. Total financial losses across the four affected businesses are currently being assessed by property owners and authorities.
