Man Charged With Setting Spokane’s Largest Wildfire Went to Prison for Killing His Father

A man who was sent to prison for manslaughter in his father’s 2010 killing has been charged with intentionally starting Spokane’s largest wildfire. Aaron F. Farinacci, 37, was arrested Monday and booked on suspicion of first-degree arson linked to the Old Trails Fire. Authorities say investigators connected the fire’s start to sightings from a community tip. Fire officials reported the blaze has destroyed hundreds of buildings and forced massive evacuations as crews worked to contain other fires nearby.
