Malaysian pilot arrested at Indonesia airport with over 70,000 ecstasy pills

Indonesia arrested a Malaysian Airlines pilot at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta airport after customs officials found more than 70,000 ecstasy pills in his suitcase, along with drugs in his hand luggage. Authorities said the pilot, 39, was also under the influence of cocaine and methamphetamine based on a urine test. Investigators alleged he carried the drugs at someone else’s request for a promised reward and suspected he was part of an international syndicate. If convicted, he could face the death penalty or a life sentence.
