QUETTA, Pakistan — Security forces in Pakistan have eliminated nine Indian-sponsored terrorists in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across Balochistan. The successful counter-terrorism raids took place in the Kachhi and Wadh districts on Monday, October 26, targeting hideouts linked to militant networks.
According to an official statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces launched coordinated actions following actionable intelligence regarding the presence of foreign-backed operatives belonging to designated militant outfits.
In the first operation, conducted in the Kachhi district, troops raided a covert militant sanctuary. A fierce firefight ensued, resulting in seven terrorists being neutralized. Security forces seized a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the destroyed hideout.
Simultaneously, in the Wadh district, security personnel tracked and intercepted the movement of a separate terrorist cell attempting to infiltrate the region. During the heavy exchange of fire, two additional militants were killed.
Military officials confirmed that recovered weapons and combat gear from both sites indicate the operatives were preparing to execute large-scale, coordinated attacks against civilian infrastructure and law enforcement personnel.
"Security forces remain determined to thwart attempts at destabilizing Balochistan," the ISPR stated, emphasizing ongoing clearance operations across the province to hunt down any remaining associates.
The dual operation is part of broader nationwide counter-terrorism efforts aimed at eradicating foreign-funded terrorism and dismantling insurgent networks operating along border corridors. Security agencies reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and stability throughout Balochistan.
Provincial government leaders praised the swift execution of the joint operations, emphasizing that the dismantling of these cells has prevented significant loss of life and disruption to vital public infrastructure. Officials noted that intelligence sharing between provincial agencies and military units has been substantially strengthened in recent months, leading to higher precision and success rates during high-stakes raids in remote border sectors.
The successful operations come amid heightened security measures across Balochistan as authorities continue to safeguard major economic transit corridors and public spaces. Defense analysts highlight that neutralizing these hideouts severely impairs the operational capacity of anti-state elements, while security personnel remain on high alert to carry out follow-up search-and-clearance sweeps throughout adjacent districts.
