LUCKNOW, UTTAR PRADESH — A massive fire broke out early Sunday morning, June 27, 2026 at the Himalayan Cold Storage facility in the Chinhat area of Lucknow, unleashing thick plumes of dark smoke and triggering widespread panic in the surrounding locality.

The extensive facility, which serves as a major hub for agricultural and food goods, suffered significant damage as intense flames were seen tearing through the structure.

The blaze was first noticed by a security guard on duty who spotted heavy smoke billowing from the warehouse. Recognizing the severity of the situation, the guard immediately alerted the facility’s owner, who subsequently contacted emergency services using the 112 hotline.

Emergency operations were launched without delay as the Police Brigade and local law enforcement arrived promptly to secure the perimeter and manage the gathering crowds. Simultaneously, over half a dozen fire tenders were dispatched to the scene to engage the intense flames, while specialized machinery, including an Articulated Water Tower (AWT) and high-reach hydraulic platforms, was brought in from Hazratganj to combat the blaze slicing through the building's tin roof.

Firefighters and police teams continue their coordinated efforts at the site to fully douse the embers and prevent any re-ignition.
