The Kremlin welcomed US President Donald Trump’s call for Ukraine to halt attacks on Russian diesel-producing facilities. Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said any appeal to stop strikes on civilian economic infrastructure was welcome. Ukraine’s long-range drone attacks on refineries have reduced Russia’s fuel production and contributed to gasoline shortages in several regions. Kyiv says the strikes are intended to increase the cost of Moscow’s invasion. Peskov blamed global energy instability mainly on escalating tensions in the Persian Gulf while defending measures.
