Kosovo Prosecutorial Council Rejects Serb prosecutors’ return to old posts

Kosovo’s Prosecutorial Council has rejected requests submitted by Serb prosecutors to withdraw resignations they made during a mass boycott of Kosovo institutions in 2022. The decision affects several prosecutors and administrative staff from the Serb-majority north, including courts and prosecutor’s offices in areas such as North Mitrovica. The Council decided on July 20 to dismiss the requests by a majority vote and to forward names for formal dismissal procedures. The move complicates efforts linked to EU-facilitated normalization and the potential reintegration of Serb legal staff.
