Italy Calls Potential U.S. Move to Limit Ukraine Support a “Major Mistake”

Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto called a possible US move to limit Ukraine’s access to satellite systems and intelligence a “complete mistake, a major mistake.” In an interview, he warned that weakening Ukraine could convince Russian President Vladimir Putin that he can win, encouraging him to continue the war rather than pursue peace. Crosetto said peace depends on Putin seeing stalemate and believing Russian forces cannot advance further. He added that Italy’s military support would continue under the government currently in office.
