Israeli criminal gangs are reportedly smuggling crystal meth, amphetamines and hashish into Jordan using small balloons and quadcopter drones. Jordanian military sources say border guards have foiled several recent attempts, while accusing Israeli announcements about weapons smuggling from Jordan of presenting a one-sided picture. Jordan has increased patrols and surveillance as drug prices rise. Figures cited in the report say authorities seized more than 15,000 Captagon pills, nearly 20,000 kilograms of crystal meth and 6,000 blocks of hashish since the start of 2026. The Israeli military says it is strengthening border defenses.
