Israel and Morocco agreed to upgrade their diplomatic relationship by elevating liaison offices to full embassies and appointing ambassadors. The agreement followed a meeting in New York between Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz. The countries also plan to expand direct flights, hold reciprocal high-level visits, and complete investment-protection and double-taxation agreements by the end of 2026, according to officials from both governments and ministries jointly soon.
