The Isle of Man’s Assisted Dying Bill has cleared its final legislative hurdle, but Royal Assent remains pending. Tynwald approved amendments intended to address safeguards requested during the UK Government’s review, including protections against coercion. The votes were 16 to 6 in the House of Keys and 5 to 1 in the Legislative Council. The Bill, introduced by Dr Alex Allinson, would allow eligible terminally ill adults to request assisted dying under specified conditions. Further steps are required before the legislation can take effect.
