Men who may not initially display strong nurturing instincts can grow profoundly attentive through involvement and emotional investment. In straightforward terms, current scientific evidence does not support the existence of a single “good dad gene.” Researchers agree that paternal behavior results from a complex interplay of multiple genes, hormones, brain development, and environmental factors. Parenting capacity cannot be predicted or reduced to one genetic marker.

So the question remains, gently reframed: not whether a gene makes a good father, but how biology and experience together shape the capacity to care. In that shared space — between inheritance and intention — fatherhood continues to unfold, one relationship at a time.
