Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy said a supertanker carrying two million barrels of oil struck a mine and caught fire in the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude rose to $109.86, near a five-month high. The vessel was said to have switched off its GPS and radar and used a route Tehran considers unauthorized; these claims remain independently unverified. Separately, former minister Abbas Akhoundi reportedly survived an armed attack in Tehran. Accounts differ on whether it was organized or politically motivated, and details remain unconfirmed.
