Iranian President Pezeshkian Backs Hormuz Reopening Plan and Offers Nuclear Inspections

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran would honor commitments under a proposed seven-day plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and restart nuclear negotiations. He also said Tehran would allow United Nations nuclear inspectors into Iran and could reach agreements on the scope of inspections. The proposal was transmitted to Washington through intermediaries as tensions continue between the two countries. Pezeshkian said Iran would abide by commitments if the United States accepted the plan, while emphasizing distrust remains an obstacle.
