Iran Threatens Britain and Declares RAF Base a “Target”

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has issued a warning to Britain, saying the British monarchy is “a legitimate cause” of regional misfortunes and urging it not to further involve itself in conflicts tied to Iran. The IRGC statement also named RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, saying any base used to invade Iranian territory is a “legitimate target.” The message followed reports that US B-1 bombers took off from Fairford for strikes on Iran. British officials did not comment on operational security, while tensions in the Middle East continued to escalate.
