The gathering was intended to present an Iran-Oman understanding on maritime routes through the Strait of Hormuz after weeks of negotiations. Iran said the agreement had been finalized despite the cancellation and that discussions could help revive regional dialogue. Oman said the postponement served consensus, while Bahrain had already declined to attend amid accusations and escalating attacks across the Gulf.
