Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Russia and Iran have “never” worked as closely as they do now, following talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Tehran. Araghchi said discussions covered Europe, West Asia, Ukraine, Yemen, Lebanon and Palestine, as well as expanding economic and nuclear cooperation. Lavrov said Moscow hopes to help prevent a return to large-scale war, while negotiations between Washington and Tehran remain stalled. The meeting underscored close ties between the two sanctioned countries amid heightened regional tensions and diplomatic uncertainty.
