MARSASKALA, Malta — Emergency crews successfully contained a massive structural fire earlier on Saturday, July 18, 2026 after an industrial garage erupted in flames in the coastal town of Marsaskala. The serious incident marks the third major fire emergency handled by local civil protection forces within a 24-hour period.

Thanks to a rapid and coordinated emergency response, authorities have confirmed that no injuries were reported.

The emergency call came in earlier today, prompting immediate deployment to the industrial site. Firefighters from the Civil Protection Department (CPD) Stations 4 and 11 rushed to the scene to find thick smoke and flames tearing through the structure.

Recognizing the potential for the fire to spread to adjacent industrial lots, emergency teams immediately launched an aggressive containment strategy. In total, firefighting crews deployed approximately 30,000 liters of water to fully suppress the core of the inferno.
