The US government has suspended technology companies from the Permanent Labour Certification Programme, which allows employers to seek certification for foreign workers pursuing residency. Companies named include Cognizant, Infosys, Tata, Wipro, HCL, Capgemini, Microsoft and Adobe. Officials said they would not accept new applications or process pending certifications involving the firms. Labour Secretary Keith Sonderling cited alleged misuse, while Vice-President JD Vance argued the program could disadvantage American workers. The announcement did not detail how existing worker cases would be affected.
