India’s first privately built 800 kN full-flow staged combustion rocket engine was unveiled by space startup Astrobase Space Technologies. The company says the LOX-methane “Everest” engine is designed for medium-lift launch vehicles and aims for reusability, with a stated throttle range of 50% to 110% and specific impulse of around 340 seconds. Astrobase plans a major next step: a full-engine hot-fire test, followed by integration and development toward orbital missions.
