India Has 190 Nuclear Warheads, With Potential to Produce Up to 225: Report

India is estimated to have assembled about 190 nuclear warheads, including more than 160 assigned to operational delivery systems, according to a new assessment by the Federation of American Scientists. The study says India’s stockpile could grow as new missile and submarine systems enter service. It estimates the country has produced enough weapons-grade plutonium for between 140 and 225 warheads, although not all material is likely assembled into weapons. Analysts stress that the figures remain estimates based on open-source information.
