ICC chief prosecutor removed from post over sexual misconduct allegations, diplomats tell AP

The International Criminal Court removed chief prosecutor Karim Khan from his post after states voted to oust him over sexual misconduct allegations involving a female aide. The ICC’s oversight body concluded that Khan committed “serious misconduct and serious breach of duty.” The vote came after he was temporarily suspended in June following an earlier finding by the oversight body. Khan has denied the allegations. Diplomats told AP the motion to make removal harder failed and a majority proceeded with the vote ahead of schedule. The decision does not immediately affect existing arrest warrants.
