Cassidy Schutz, a learning specialist at Silver Rail Elementary in Bend, Oregon, has spoken publicly about tackling a gunman during last month’s school shooting. She threw her cellphone at him and tried to wrestle away his gun before a parent fatally shot him, police said. The attack killed three students and a teacher, and injured another student and teacher. Schutz said she feels deep grief and asked for privacy. Silver Rail remains closed through November 6 while repairs are completed.
