Heat Wave to Push Greece Temperatures to 42°C

Greece is facing a renewed heat wave on Monday, August 24, with temperatures expected to reach 40–42°C in parts of the mainland. Athens and Attica could see highs of 40°C, while Thessaloniki is forecast to reach 35°C. Authorities have placed 11 regions under Red Code alerts because of very high wildfire danger, including Attica, Evia, the Cyclades, and parts of the Peloponnese.
