Gulf states work on multipart deal to avert renewed US-Iran war

Gulf states are pursuing a multi-part proposal to prevent renewed war between the United States and Iran. The plan would reopen the Strait of Hormuz within four days after sanctions are lifted and call for Houthi forces to withdraw from Yemen. Washington is aware of the talks but wants concessions. European officials say that could include Iran allowing UN weapons inspectors back into the country. Tehran has refused so far, though it says it is willing to discuss a program.
