Greece and Italy have signed a €460 million deal for two FREMM frigates, expanding defense cooperation between the Mediterranean partners. The vessels are expected to strengthen Greece’s naval capabilities, improve maritime surveillance and support joint operations with allied forces. The agreement also reflects broader European efforts to modernize fleets and reinforce security in the Mediterranean. Officials are expected to finalize delivery schedules, training arrangements and maintenance plans, while the purchase could create opportunities for industrial cooperation between the two countries.
